Who We Are

CONSULTANT PHYSICIAN

I qualified as a physician in 1986 and completed my internship in Addington Hospital in Durban. During mandatory army service I worked in the Department of Internal Medicine at 1 Military Hospital in Pretoria in 1988 where I gained wide experience in Infectious Diseases. I subsequently completed my Master’s degree in Internal Medicine in 1993 and have since worked as a specialist physician in private practice. I made a bold move to Knysna in 2008 and love working in this beautiful area.

Receptionist

I started my career in the hospitality industry 2007 where I managed a 4* Lodge in Oudtshoorn and later a 5* Boutique Hotel in Stellenbosch. I completed a course in Hospitality Management in 2009 after which I joined a catering company in 2012 in food service management.  I later opened a catering unit at a retirement village and took over the management of a second larger unit.  I incorporate several years of industry experience and expertise in managing staff and restaurants in my daily work in the practice. I moved to Knysna in 2013 as the catering manager in Life Knysna Private Hospital. I then started working for Dr Viljoen at his practise July 2014.

Clinical Sister.

I was born and raised in the Great Karoo near Hanover. I have 3 siblings, a twin brother and two older sisters whom I love dearly. My passion for nursing was inspired by my grandmother who used to be a nurse. I decided to follow in her footsteps and obtained a Bachelor Degree in Social Science of Nursing at The University Of The Free State in 2018. Following my Community Service year in 2019 I joined the team of Dr Viljoen in early January 2020.

Practice Manager

I studied personnel management at The University of The Free State and joined Dr Viljoen in 1995 as practice manager.  We moved to Knysna together in 2008 and I am blessed to work and live in this beautiful area.  I love rugby and do not miss a F1 race!
